The Bristol International Comic Expo took place this past weekend, attendance was lower than in previous years due to the event being held solely within the Ramada Plaza Hotel, although the Small Press Expo took place on Saturday at the Mercure Hotel which was where the Manga Expo was going to take place during last years Expo, before those plans were shelved. Attendance was down, there was a noticeable lack of Storm Troopers (or anything like Storm Trooper Elvis or Hello Kitty Darth Vader) & the 'Eagle Awards' which in recent years have been presented at a ceremony held at the Ramada on Saturday evening, was Missing in Action, but a recent press release I found on The Beat explained everything.

Until May 22nd, nominations for the 2008 Eagle Awards are being accepted, the top five nominees in each category will then face a public vote, a complete list of winners will be available from Monday June 15th.
